Through a friend's connection, each year a group of quilters and myself donate single bed sized quilts to Alpha House in Calgary. The quilts are given to individuals housed within the Alpha House system. When possible a matching pillowcase is also given with the quilt.

About Alpha House
Alpha House has a long history of innovating and evolving to meet the changing needs of clients, the city, and the increasing complexities of homelessness and drug use.
Calgary Alpha House Society was established in 1981 as a committed response to a marginalized population of men and women who are addicted to alcohol or other drugs and living vulnerable on the streets of Calgary
Services include a Shelter and Detox facility, Outreach Programs, and Housing Programs with intensive case management. The scope of work is a direct intersection of homelessness, addiction and mental and physical health issues. Programs support improving the lives of vulnerable individuals while simultaneously having a positive impact on the broader community through dedicated responses to social issues.
Alpha House Housing Program
The housing programs provides a base of stability for Calgarians who need a safe place to live in the belief that everyone deserves to have a safe, stable home.
The programs include Community Housing and Recovery-Oriented Supportive Housing. Alpha House works with all communities in Calgary to find independent living opportunities for community housing clients and operate seven place-based buildings in Supportive Housing programs.
The accredited housing program abides by the philosophies of Harm Reduction and Housing First with the capacity to provide housing for over 300 individuals.
